What equals a college credit?

Krystal Cordovano: Usually, colleges base a credit on how many hours of class time you have. For example: 1hour Biology class with an half hour mandatory lab, for two days out of the week would be considered 3 hour credit hours.Since PE classes usually or rarely have lecture time, they start at half a credit or 1 credit. Rodolfo Merel: Well, it depends on the college and whether they use Semester or Quarter systems. At the two colleges I've attended (one community or junior college and the other a state university), only a PE class counted for one credit. If you're wondering how much time it takes to complete one college credit, they typically say that for each credit you take, you should! expect to spend 3 hours time per week. Each credit is supposed to represent the amount of time spent per week in class.
