Can I use a old Direct TV Tivo box with Cox?

Ronnie Barcus: No it is not possible, DirecTV is ONLY a digital signal, where Cox or any cable company even if you have "digital cable" does not have ALL channels in Digital. The other thing is that for a DirecTV box to work it has to have a activated card to be able to record anything. The ONLY thing you ca do with a DirecTV box is IF it is a DirecTV Tivo series2 then you can upgrade it with some legal hacks, and set it up on your home network. Once you do this you can use it for storing programs from other DirecTV Tivos (Series 2, Not the R10 or R15 Models). Check out this site for more info: http://www.dvrplayground.comI am also including a link to one of the forums which talk about using the DirecTV Tivo like I describe above. these links may help in what you are trying to accomplish. Hope this helps..http://www.dvrplayground.com/article/10171/Living-...http://www.dvrplayground.com/forum/thread/15078/Ti...http://www.dvrplayground.com/forum/thread/12135/us......Show! more

Terresa Tsasie: NO wrong circuitry inside to decode signal!!!

Marylee Lucks: She might be able to have another sat. dish installed and use it, but not on the system you have now.
