May Stands: Health care, food, clothing, shelter, transportation, education, etc are all commodities and there is no Constitutional right to any of them. People need to learn what a "right" is. In our Constitutional form of Government, rights are something that are granted by God or "or the Creator". They do not come from the Government and cannot be limited by or removed by the Government. Among those rights are the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. There is no "right" to happiness only the right to pursue happiness. You have no more right to health care as you do to a ride to work in the morning or a cup of coffee. The Founders were "word smiths". They spend many, many days laboring over every word choice, ever! y mark of punctuation in the documents they wrote. That is why there i! s such an economy of words and clear and concise meaning.So, the preamble of the Constitution includes the phrase;"...establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity..." and they carefully chose those words. Establish Justice-means to set up a system of fair and just laws and courts to administer them.Insure Domestic Tranquility- means to see to that people are left alone and not harassed.Promote the General Welfare-means to actively seek to only take action that is in the best interest of the people.Secure the blessing of Liberty-means to keep sacred the liberty and its benefits to our citizens and to generations to come.PROVIDE for the Common defense-This is the only item on the list that specifically uses the term "provide for". That means pay for. The only one of the items on this list that the Federal Government is specifically ordered to ! fund is the military. They could have used the word "provide" for each of these things but they did not.
